Surreal Paintings

Often we are so busy identifying 'things' that we miss the overall view and especially the essence of that view. Some landscapes and seascapes reveal themselves, under the artist's watchful eye, as mind-bogglingly surreal! Surrealism is the landscape of the mind, recognized by some when they say to me after touring around New Zealand 'ah, now I know why you paint like that'.
