Hawke's Bay Vintners Charity Wine Auction

Jochen Schmidt was chosen to be the artist for the 2003 Hawke's Bay Vintners Charity Wine Auction.

The Auction helps significantly towards funding the Cranford Hospice's vital work in the Hawke's Bay community. The event is an important part of the fundraising effort for the hospice each year and its success is aided by the goodwill and support of many people who donate goods and services. Every year one piece of art is chosen to be auctioned and is further printed on the label of every bottle auctioned.

The painting 'Surveying Hawke's Bay' generated a lot of positive comment and reproduced very well as a poster. Jochen Schmidt's painting raised a new record price at the auction at no less than 10.000,00 NZ Dollars!
